You will need a space to place your yoga mat and your camera set up on the long side of your mat, back far enough that you can be seen both standing and sitting, with sufficient light in front of you and no light or windows behind you if possible. If these parameters aren’t possible, just do your best. Have props/water handy as well and try to arrange to not be interrupted.
Your Qi gong Instructors:
In 1985, Jennifer’s high school graduation year, she was a passenger in a car accident that left her with multiple bone fractures over her whole body. The doctors used her sister’s face as a model for reconstruction. In 1987, with chronic back pain and serial sinus infections, Jennifer began her post-secondary education, earning a masters degree in violin performance at the University of Alberta in 1993.
In 1990, Jennifer began an intentional path towards better health starting with martial arts classes. In the course of those studies she discovered Yoga and Qi gong and began a mentorship with Majorie Brese leading to YAA certification in 2007.
Jennifer is a busy music teacher and performer and holds a fourth degree black belt in Uechi ryu Karate Do. She is a devoted practitioner of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga under David Robson. She loves to cook, garden, and ride her horse, Maggie.
Ken is a dedicated Qi gong, Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, and Uechi ryu Karate Do practitioner. He gives seminars in Qi gong, traditional martial arts, and meditative practices for many groups and institutions including Concordia College, Metro Continuing Education, and Grant MacEwan University.
He began his martial arts and Qi gong practice in 1970 and his Yoga practice in 1975 in Ontario. In 2012 he began assisting Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga classes under Jennifer Bustin.
Ken holds a 7th degree black belt and two honorary titles for his contributions to martial arts teaching. He has been the head Instructor of the Northern River Yoga and Karate School in Edmonton since 1989.
