About the Teacher: Neil Haggard’s journey in yoga began around 1998 with weekly classes at the YMCA with YAA Senior Teacher Julie Jeong, and completed the YAA TTP Certification in 2006 with Julie as his Mentor. His yoga influences have been from many Senior Teachers at the YAA, B.K.S. Iyengar, Akhil Bhattacharya in Kathmandu, Nepal, and with Yogrishi Vishvketu in Rishikesh, India. Now a YAA Senior Teacher and also certified in Yin Yoga (Bernie Clark), Neil teaches classes in Hatha (traditional Akhanda), Hatha flow, Hatha foundations (beginner friendly), Yin yoga, Hot yin and Meditation – both virtual and in studio classes. He incorporates asana & pranayama, mantra, chanting, often with humour, anatomy and philosophy, the whole yoga! Each year he offers a special New Year Tibetan Singing Bowl practice (with gentle yoga, readings, candles and meditation) in Edmonton and in the spring with U of A Kinesiology students on the healing aspects of Sound. Neil is a Life & Executive Coach and a Travel Guide in the Himalayas. His website for Coaching, Travel and Yoga is neilhaggard.ca.
