Core Curriculum Classes offer cost-effective training and mentorship with YAA Senior Teachers and hours can be counted towards all YAA Training Programs including the Immersion Program, Teacher Training, Equivalency Certification, Recertification or Advanced Training Levels. The sequence of classes repeats every two years and new students may join in on any date. All welcome!

Core Curriculum Class Topic: Pranayama and Meditation Overview
Asana: Vinyasa – creating flow with breath; Preparation for sitting practices; Common Mudras; Related physiology, preparations, counter/equalizing poses, variations, benefits, contraindications, and safety issues.
Theory: Pranayama (Sutras 2.49 – 2.53); Pratyahara (Sutras 2.54-2.55); Yoga Sutras Vibhuti Pada III: Dharana / Dhyana / Samadhi / Samyama
Pranayama: Review of all Pranayama
About the Teacher: David Wilson (B.Mus, M.Mus) is a singer, conductor, voice teacher, breath therapist and YAA certified senior teacher trainer (YCC 1997). He counts David McCammond, Violet Walton and Esther Myers as his major influences. David has created a unique teaching style, combining elements of hatha, restorative, pranayama and chanting. He is interested in the mind-body-breath-voice connection, creating improved flow toward reducing the effects of anxiety and asthma, as well as encouraging healthy and empowering speaking habits. He has recently created his Wilson Method Myo-fascial Rolling Balls, as well as four ebooks, one each on the topics of Pranayama, Voice, Breath and Qi Gong.
