Teacher: Neil’s journey in yoga began with weekly classes at the YMCA with YAA Senior Teacher Julie Jeong 22+ years ago. He completed his YAA Certification in 2006. Now a YAA Senior Teacher, he loves seeing the development of other students and teachers in their practice. In his activities as a Master’s cyclist, climber and skier, he has found Yoga helped him develop flexibility, reduce stress and still gives him an overall feeling of wellness! His influences have been from many Senior Teachers at the YAA, B.K.S. Iyengar, Akhil Bhattacharya in Kathmandu, Nepal, and Yogrishi Vishvketu in Rishikesh, India. He is also certified in Yin Yoga (Bernie Clark). Neil teaches a traditional Hatha Yoga incorporating asana & pranayama, mantra, chanting, and a measure of humour, anatomy and philosophy, the whole yoga! He teaches classes in Hatha (traditional Akhanda), Hatha flow, Hatha foundations (beginner friendly), Yin yoga, Hot yin, and Yin and Meditation – virtual and small number of studio classes. He also offers a special Tibetan Singing Bowl practices (meditation and gentle yoga). His website for Coaching, Travel and Yoga is – neilhaggard.ca.
