Both in the ancient and contemporary views, love is understood to be a life principle that all human beings share. Its fundamental function is to care and to nurture. When our connection with this principle is weakened, our body suffers, and so do we, because love is the core resource to sustain life and create nourishing relationships.
With the marvels of this digital era, Kavindu will guide us from his home in Mexico City through meditation practices that aim to reconnect, heal, and transcend past experiences of disconnection with ourselves and help us recognize the sustaining principle of love intrinsic to our humanity.
David will start each of the sessions with half an hour of mindful movement and conclude them with a restorative guided practice and savana.
Online Class Waiver: You are participating in unsupervised, guided, ONLINE yoga classes. As in any form of physical exercise, the risks of injury and illness do exist. A variety of props may be used. In addition, there may be tripping or other hazards in the space you choose to use. Consult your physician before beginning any exercise program to ensure you are in reasonable physical condition. You must agree to follow instructions carefully and to immediately stop any activity that causes any unacceptable discomfort, emotional distress or pain, even if instructed to do so by the instructor. By participating in this class, you agree to knowingly and freely assume all physical and legal risks, both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of the providers (including the instructor, The Yoga Association of Alberta, or others). You acknowledge and assume full responsibility for your participation; and hereby agree to release and indemnify the providers from liability with respect to any and all such injury, illness, disability, death or loss or damage to person or property.
When attending online classes we want you to listen to your body and if something seems inappropriate for you to do, please don’t. You can cease the activity, modify the position, or return to your breath until it feels safe and appropriate for you to continue.
That said, we need this waiver signed by each participant. Please download, sign and return to firstname.lastname@example.org If you have submitted a waiver for a previous online workshop there is no need to send it again.
You will need a space to place your yoga mat and your camera set up on the long side of your mat, back far enough that you can be seen both standing and sitting, with sufficient light in front of you and no light or windows behind you if possible. If these parameters aren’t possible, just do your best. Have props/water handy as well and try to arrange to not be interrupted.
