Yoga Teacher Information

YAA Equivalency Certification: The YAA offers individualized assessment for teachers who have already completed  a 200-Hour or 500-Hour Teacher Training Program.

Recertification: YAA Certified Teachers must apply to recertify every three years, maintaining active participation in both classes/workshops and teaching hours in order to meet professional upgrading standards.  Permanent Certification is available after 20 years of YAA Certification.

Advanced Training Levels: With further training and experience, YAA Certified Teachers may also qualify for certification at the 500-Hour Level, as well as the 750 Hour Level (Intermediate Teacher Status) and the 1,000 Hour Level (Senior Teacher Status).

Mentorship Guidelines: For YAA teachers who mentor or train teachers, these Guidelines outline the requirements and responsibilities for Senior and Intermediate Teachers, and give information on the classes and workshops offered within the YAA teacher training program.

Insurance: YAA Certified Teachers may obtain discount insurance rates under the umbrella of the YAA’s insurance policy. YAA members with outside certification and experience may also be eligible (some restrictions apply).
